Our center was founded in 2020. Since its beginning, the vision has been to sum up the talent, passion, and hobbies of many friends and colleagues in the field of engineering, physics, and mathematics at the service of the biggest challenges facing our planet, the global warming, climate change and green hydrogen.
With the premise that everybody can contribute Parsons Kinetics Innovation and Research Center welcomes all the people, companies, universities, other centers, and institutions that want to join in looking for solutions and stop waiting solely for actions from governments or large corporations.
The center has as central topics; green energy, water, hydrogen, and heat, as basic needs of the human race, but at the same time, the supply of these needs is the most threatening to the planet. We challenge the status quo of each of those aspects to find a more sustainable way to provide them.
The name of our center pays tribute to the engineer and inventor Charles Algernon Parsons, 100 years ago he made a significant step towards modernity when he invented the steam turbine, an invention that made cheap and abundant electricity possible and revolutionized maritime transport. He also founded the first power plant in the world to generate electricity using turbogenerators by the time of his death in 1931 Charles Parsons had the satisfaction of seeing his invention adopted for all major world power stations.
His designs at the time were only surpassed in efficiency with the appearance of the combustion engine, at that time efficiency exceeded sustainability, but today we see the need to invert this equation. It should be noted that our projects mainly involve Parsons-type turbines, and we carefully want to continue his legacy.
